TELETYPE PASSENGER MANIFEST (TPM)

PSC(30)1717 RECOMMENDED that:

In order to provide government authorities requiring a name list of disembarking passengers (though ICAO Annex 9, Chapter 2, states that Contracting States shall not require the presentation of a Passenger Manifest), Members shall use for such purposes a standard Teletype Passenger Manifest (TPM) as described below.

Section 1—General Description

1.1 DEFINITION The Teletype Passenger Manifest (TPM) provides a name list of disembarking passengers where required by governments.

1.2 TIME OF DISPATCH

1.2.1 The Teletype Passenger Manifest (TPM) is dispatched immediately after flight departure.

1.2.2 Diagram of TPM Transmission Rules For a flight with itinerary A-B-C-D, the following TPMs would be dispatched, including the indicated passengers for the indicated segments. 1.3 MESSAGE IN MULTIPLE PARTS If the TPM is generated in multiple parts, each part must contain the Address Element, Communications Reference Element, Message Identifier Element, Flight Element, and the End Element.

1.4 COMPONENTS

The TPM contains the following components:

Section 2—Detailed Specifications

2.1 ADDRESS ELEMENT

2.1.1 This element is mandatory.

2.1.2 This element is governed by the IATA Systems and Communications Reference Manual.

2.1.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Address Element.

2.2 COMMUNICATIONS REFERENCE ELEMENT

2.2.1 This element is mandatory.

2.2.2 This element is governed by the IATA Systems and Communications Reference Manual.

2.2.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Communications Reference Element.

2.3 MESSAGE IDENTIFIER ELEMENT 2.3.1 This element is mandatory. 2.3.2 The Teletype Passenger Manifest uses the message identifier TPM.

2.3.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Message Identifier Element.

2.4 FLIGHT ELEMENT

2.4.1 This element is mandatory.

2.4.2 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Flight Element.

2.4.3 Example:

Note: When there are no passengers disembarking, insert the NIL Element on the next line after the Flight Element and terminate the message with the End Element.

2.5 NAME ELEMENT

2.5.1 This element is mandatory.

2.5.2 List on a separate line for each passenger, the passenger surname, first name/initials/title.

2.5.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Name Element.

2.5.4 Examples:

2.5.5 Infant name: infants shall be shown on the same line as the surname with the code INF preceded by number if more than one, optionally followed by oblique(s) and initial(s) or name as shown in the PNL/ADL.

2.6 END ELEMENT

2.6.1 This element is mandatory.

2.6.2 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, End Element.

2.6.3 The Teletype Passenger Manifest (TPM) ends with ENDTPM.
