=====Passenger Service Message (PSM) 1715===== [[pub:passenger_services_conference_resolutions_manual|PSCRM]] ====RECOMMENDED PRACTICE 1715 PASSENGER SERVICE MESSAGE (PSM)==== PSC(33)1715 RECOMMENDED that: In order to inform downline stations and applicable airport authorities of disembarking and transiting passengers who require assistance or special handling, Members shall use the following message as described below. **Section 1—General Description** 1.1 DEFINITION The Passenger Service Message (PSM) informs downline stations and applicable airport authorities of disembarking and transiting passengers who require assistance or special handling. On multi-sector flights, each departure station shall transmit a separate PSM to each downline station, relating the data of disembarking and transiting passengers that applies to that downline station. The PSM is created with specific passenger names and their related SSR/OSI/AUX service(s). The PSM contains a numeric recap of the PSM services required for each downline destination, followed by the names and services for each destination, and may include supplementary information. 1.2 TIME OF DISPATCH 1.2.1 The Passenger Services Message (PSM) is dispatched immediately after flight departure, from the departure station to all downline stations. 1.2.2 Diagram of PSM Transmission Rules For a flight with itinerary A-B-C-D, the following PSMs would be dispatched, including the indicated passengers for the indicated segments. From DCS: To A DCS To B DCS To C DCS To D DCS Station A (none) Passengers: Passengers: Passengers: A-B, A-C, A-D A-C, A-D A-D Station B (none) (none) Passengers: Passengers: B-C, B-D B-D Station C (none) (none) (none) Passengers: C-D Station D (none) (none) (none) (none) 1.3 MESSAGE IN MULTIPLE PARTS If the PSM is generated in multiple parts, each part must contain the Address Element, Communications Reference Element, Message Identifier Element, Flight Element, and the End Element. 916 32ND EDITION, JUNE 2012 Recommended Practice 1715 1.4 COMPONENTS The PSM contains the following components: Address Element HDQRMNW Communications Reference Element .AMSKPKL 131313 Message Identifier Element PSM Flight Element NW055/13MAR AMS PART1 Downline Destination and Recap Element -DTW 5PAX/8SSR SSR/OSI/AUX Codes and Counts Element DEAF 003F 001C 000Y WCHR 002F 000C 003Y VIP 001F 001C 000Y Compartment and count line F CLASS 5PAX/7SSR Name Element and Seat Number 1VINCENT/GERARDMR 22A Onward Connection NW1234F13SFO SSR/OSI/AUX Services Element WCHS HAS OWN CARRY CASE Supplementary Information Element SI EXPECT COMPLAINTS AT ARRIVAL End Element ENDPSM **Section 2—Detailed Specifications** 2.1 ADDRESS ELEMENT 2.1.1 This element is mandatory. 2.1.2 This element is governed by the IATA Systems and Communications Reference Manual. 2.1.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Address Element. 2.2 COMMUNICATIONS REFERENCE ELEMENT 2.2.1 This element is mandatory. 2.2.2 This element is governed by the IATA Systems and Communications Reference Manual. 2.2.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Communications Reference Element. 2.3 MESSAGE IDENTIFIER ELEMENT 2.3.1 This element is mandatory. 2.3.2 The Passenger Service Message uses the message identifier PSM. 2.3.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Message Identifier Element. 2.4 FLIGHT ELEMENT 2.4.1 This element is mandatory. 2.4.2 For a code-share flight, show operating carrier and flight number. 2.4.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Flight Element. 2.4.4 Example: GF003/18MAR BAH PART1 Note: When there are no PSM SSR/OSI/AUX services (as listed below) and no SI free format text to be included in the whole message, insert the NIL Element on the next line after the Flight Element and terminate the message with the End Element. 32ND EDITION, JUNE 2012 917 Passenger Services Conference Resolutions Manual 2.5 DOWNLINE DESTINATION AND RECAP ELEMENT 2.5.1 This element is mandatory. 2.5.2 Each downline destination from the boarding airport appears on the list in the order of the flight routing. 2.5.3 For construction rules, see RP 1707b, Downline Destination and Recap Element. 2.5.4 Examples: -FAR NIL -JMS 18PAX/23SSR 2.6 SSR/OSI/AUX CODES AND COUNTS ELEMENT 2.6.1 This element is conditional. 2.6.2 It is used when at least one of the allowable SSR/OSI/AUX codes as shown below is present for the passenger in the DCS. 2.6.3 In alphabetical order under each destination, list the SSR/OSI/AUX code(s) and count(s) that apply. 2.6.4 Show counts for each code by compartment.
